Teen Challenge
Mission Trip December ‘09
First we would like to thank everyone for their prayers and financial support that allows us to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We could not accomplish the will of God to touch others without your faithful support.
It was a privilege to minister at the San Jose, Costa Rica Teen Challenge and the Teen Challenge in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. My appreciation goes out to Duane Henders, the Global Teen Challenge Representative for Latin America, who invited me to travel with him to minister to the students while he ministered to the staff.
During our trip I ministered to about 187 men. I taught the men on how we are a spirit, we possess a soul, and we live in a body. After this we learned about breaking mental strongholds in our lives according to:
II Corinthians 10: 3-6 (Message Bible), "The world is unprincipled. It's dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn't fight fair. But we don't live or fight our battles that way--never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philopsophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity."
This is done by understanding how Satan works through the process of building strongholds in people’s minds. This process is plant a thought, reap a action, plant a action, reap a habit, plant a habit, and reap a lifestyle, plant a lifestyle ,and reap your destiny. Once this is understood the men had the tools to renew their mind and get the victory over their addictions by changing their thinking then changing their destiny. Glory to God!
There were about 140 men who received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit during my time with them. They are now empowered by Him so they can live out the rest of their Christian lives bringing glory to God. Amen!
We enclosed a DVD for you that we titled X-treme Mission Trip ‘09. It is our prayer that you will be touched in a special way as you watch and witness what the Lord accomplished during this time. We also took 100 copies of our book Your Kingdom Purpose Revealed in Spanish for the staff and students so they can be grounded further in their walk with God.
It was a great trip. Thanks for your commitment to the Lord! Lives were changed by the awesome power of God.
